The bail bid for Lekompo artist Shebeshxt, whose real name is Lehlogonolo Katlego Chauke, was moved to Thursday, 27 November 2025, after a short court stop in the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.
The case was held back so that he and his team could look at the new charges added to the matter.
Shebeshxt was in court for charges that include attempted murder, having an illegal gun and damage to property. The case came from an event on 19 October 2025 in Ladanna, Polokwane, where he was said to have fired more than one shot at a man and at the man’s car.
The court said the case is a Schedule 6 matter. This means the rules for bail are far more strict. It also shows how serious the claims are and sets the tone for how the case will move.
The event at the heart of the case was said to have started when the artist went up to the man and then fired shots.
Based on what was shared, the shots were fired at both the man and the car. These claims are what led to the new charges he now faces.
In court on Tuesday, the magistrate said there were six more charges added to the case. This meant the artist and his lawyer needed time to read and talk about all the new points so they could get ready for the bail bid.
The defence asked for more time. The court then set the new date for Thursday. This gives both sides time to plan and look at the full list of claims made in court.
Since the case is a Schedule 6 matter, the defence must show strong and rare reasons for the court to give bail. This puts more weight on what will be said in the next hearing and on how the case will move forward.
The court on Thursday will look at if the artist can go home while he waits for the trial or if he will stay in jail. The final call will rest on the points given in court and the rules that guide Schedule 6 cases.
