A popular Limpopo musician, Lehlogonolo Katlego “Shebeshxt” Chauke, will remain in custody after appearing at the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Thursday. The 30-year-old faces charges of attempted murder, malicious damage to property, and possession of an unlicensed firearm following a shooting incident in Ladanna on 19 October 2025.
Chauke was arrested on Wednesday morning after a road rage incident left a 34-year-old male injured. The suspect allegedly got into a confrontation with another motorist and fired multiple shots at their vehicle, injuring a 34-year-old man who was rushed to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
The matter has been postponed to 21 November 2025, allowing the court to profile Chauke and consider adding further charges. He also faces other pending cases in the Lebowakgomo Regional Court, where he is currently out on R5 000 bail.
Pending Cases and Additional Charges
In addition to the current charges, Chauke faces two counts of attempted murder, assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, robbery with aggravating circumstances, and malicious injury to property. The trial for these pending cases is scheduled for 17 to 19 February 2026.
“This trial will address all pending matters against the accused,” Malabi said, confirming the musician’s extensive legal challenges. Chauke’s legal situation shows a solid pattern of violent incidents linked to the artist over recent years.
The October shooting follows a series of road confrontations involving Chauke, and authorities have emphasized his history of violent behaviour. Police have warned that the accused’s actions continue to pose a risk to public safety.
Court proceedings now aim to consolidate charges and ensure a comprehensive prosecution. Authorities are also investigating whether additional firearms or incidents should be included in the current docket.
Chauke’s legal team will return to court in late November to respond to profiling and potential new charges.
